Leading Teams Essay Example for Free

Driving Teams Essay The accompanying report presents an investigation of Shell Oil, and the manners by which it joins group authority ideas in adjusting partner needs. Partners are characterized in The Times 100 contextual investigation Balancing Stakeholder Needs as â€Å"anyone who has an enthusiasm for what a business does or an impact on the business†. The contextual investigation proceeds to distinguish Shell’s partners as investors, representatives, providers, clients, nearby networks, and premium gatherings. It is essentially significant for enormous companies, for example, Shell to adjust the necessities of these gatherings, so as to guarantee beneficial, protected and consistent tasks. So as to do as such, Shell must consider what the necessities of every one of these gatherings are, and how to utilize administration to control the impacts of clashing needs. a) Making reference to fitting hypothesis what parts of authority and group elements may Shell have thought about while considering their way to deal with adjusting Stakeholder needs? The administration strategies utilized by Shell in adjusting partner needs will be changed, however will no uncertainty incorporate an evaluation of its vision and standards, the corporate initiative style, and how to build its groups to expand execution. The announcement â€Å"Begin with the end in mind† (Covey 2004 refered to Benson and Rice 2009a, p.3), gives a reasonable sign regarding the reason and need of a corporate vision. Where is the business going, and how is it going to arrive? A fundamental component to administration, a dream characterizes the objective that everybody in the organization ought to be progressing in the direction of. Kotter (1990, p.105) recommends that a key piece of vision is â€Å"how well it serves the interests of significant constituencies†. As it were, Shell should show adjusted partners needs in the organization vision. As per Nanus (1992 refered to Southwest Educational Development Laboratory, 1993), a dream ought to likewise show the followingâ characteristics, which Shell would almost certainly have considered for each gathering of partners: * Attracts responsibility and empowers individuals * Creates importance in laborers lives * Establishes a standard of greatness * Bridges the present to what's to come * Transcends the norm. Shell distributes its vision, alongside its basic beliefs and other working standards in the Shell General Business Principles, which is broadly imparted, and accessible for download from the company’s site. Shell has obviously perceived for a long while the worth and need for a dream in adjusting needs, as the primary arrangement of standards was initially distributed in 1976 (Royal Dutch Shell plc 2005). It is essential to isolate administration from the board. Kotter (1990, p.104) states that â€Å"Management is tied in with adapting to complexity†, and that â€Å"Leadership, on the other hand, is tied in with adapting to change.† And what is a dream, if not a foreseen change to the organization? The administration of progress is a key job of authority. The ongoing corporate rebuilding and arrangement of another CEO in July 2009 (Wighton 2010), shows that Shell’s pioneers are required to reliably respond to changes, for example, economic situations, and alter its concentration to guarantee all partner needs are as yet being met. The investigation of administration when all is said in done has prompted many contrasting initiative hypotheses, which can basically be partitioned into two classifications; Behavior Models, and Situational Leadership. Conduct Models will in general location the individual characteristics of the individual chief, and Situational Leadership tends to a customisation of style to each new circumstance. While it is conceivable to apply some Behavior Model hypotheses to an association, almost certainly, Shell apply Situational Leadership strategies, modifying the equalization of undertaking versus relationship reliant on which partner bunch is being thought of. Shell will likewise have invested impressive energy finding the best groups for their business profile. Inferable from the exceptionally specialized nature of Shell’s activities, there is a decent chance that it utilizes master groups to guarantee that investor needs are fused at each degree of the association. For instance, and master in state, oil penetrating, might not have the mastery to figure out what impacts a proposed strategy would have on the localâ community. It is significant notwithstanding, that it might be the ideal opportunity for Shell to reconsider the adequacy of its groups. Wighton (2010) reports that Shell has been â€Å"plagued by postponements and spending overwhelms on large projects†, showing that its groups are not performing. To guarantee that partner needs are being met, Shell will have joined manners by which to screen and control execution inside the association. Shell starts by announcing. It gives an account of a few segments of the business, to incorporate yearly money related reports, which are especially applicable to investors, and maintainability revealing, which will bear some significance with nearby networks and premium gatherings (Shell International B.V. 2010a). It got obvious, through the yearly answering to their investors in May 2009 that Shell had confounded its investors needs. This brought about a strained yearly gathering where the investors casted a ballot 60% against the proposed motivator conspire for administrators, which would have seen top officials get huge rewards, regardless of whether they neglected to meet execution targets (Lindsay and Pagnamenta 2010) b) How may Shell’s way to deal with adjusting Stakeholder need’s sway upon worker inspiration? There are two significant inspirational speculations which are generally utilized in the field of the board; Herzberg’s Two Factor Theory (1959 refered to Boddy 2008, p. 500-502), and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs (1970 refered to Boddy 2008, p. 494-497). The Two Factor hypothesis recommends that there are two components to inspiration, Motivating Factors, and Hygiene Factors. Spurring Factors add to an employee’s fulfillment, and Hygiene Factors add to their disappointment. The hypothesis distinguishes these variables as: Propelling Factors| Hygiene Factors| Achievement| Company Policies| Recognition| Supervision| The work itself| Relationship with Supervisor and Peers| Responsibility| Work conditions| Advancement| Salary| Growth| Status| | Security| Herzberg proceeded to presume that fulfillment and disappointment are not alternate extremes. Something contrary to fulfillment is no fulfillment, with something contrary to disappointment being no disappointment. At the end of the day, the nonappearance of Motivating elements doesn't make disappointment, and the presence of the Hygiene Factors doesn't make fulfillment. Then again, in the Hierarchy of Needs, Maslow conjectures that everybody has a recommended set of requirements that must be met in a specific request, as follows: Maslow keeps up that representatives start by hoping to fill Physiological necessities, for instance an appropriately warmed/cooled work environment. Just when Physiological needs are met, or for the most part met, will a worker look to satisfy their Security needs, for instance a perpetual agreement. Etc through different needs. Both of these hypotheses have distinguished normal zones of inspiration identifying with security (professional stability, pay), acknowledgment (status, progression, confidence, rewards), and occupation improvement (development, accomplishment, self actualisation, obligation). Despite which hypothesis, assuming any, that Shell has decided to receive, these are the essential worker needs that they should have considered. It is a generally held conviction that representatives are a company’s most prominent resource, which implies that their job as partners is a significant one. On the off chance that Shell is getting the partner balance right, they will have tended to their employee’s needs, which should bring about positive degrees of representative inspiration. As we found in Question a) nonetheless, it isn't generally that simple to get the equalization right. On the off chance that Shell has supported its investor needs, this might prompt representative compensation cuts and a decrease in wellbeing costs, so as to augment benefits. In the event that intrigue gatherings and neighborhood networks are supported, this might prompt the crossing out of new and imaginative undertakings that would have permitted workers to grow new aptitudes and accomplish new revelations. These results would have a perceptibly negative impact on worker inspiration. In the event that we are to trust Shell, it perceives this requirement for balance, and goes to incredible endeavors to guarantee that employee’s requirements for acknowledgment and occupation advancement are met (Shell International B.V. 2010b). It proclaims on its site: * â€Å"Joining Shell implies getting more out of your working life than you suspected possible.† (Shell International B.V. 2010b) * â€Å" [We make] each push to give the sort of remunerations and advantages that will supplement your own specific way of life and needs† (Shell International B.V. 2010c) Certainly, the tributes offered by Shell workers, from each feature of the association, appear to help these announcements (Shell International B.V. 2010d). It is significant in any case, that no place in the writing distributed in the Jobs Career area of the Shell site, does it address the subjects of occupation strength, representative wellbeing, or individual security. It was accounted for by Wighton (2010) that inside long stretches of his taking over in charge of Shell in July 2009, Peter Voser had eliminated 5000 positions. Consolidate this with the inalienable dangers of the petrochemical business, and the security dangers related with activities in areas, for example, Nigeria, and some uncertainty is thrown on Shell’s capacity to meet the entirety of their employee’s needs. c) What struggle circumstances may Shell have expected to consider and oversee so as to effectively accomplish its parity towards Stakeholder needs? Shell has five fundamental partner gatherings, investors, representatives, providers, clients, nearby networks, and in

Howard County High School Students Have Their Say Essay

Lunch menus in state funded schools have changed altogether in the course of recent years. There is an expanded national worry about the disturbing number of young kids who experience the ill effects of stoutness. Government and state prerequisites have been hard to accomplish because of the intricacy in fulfilling the palette just as general wellbeing concerns. Howard County, Maryland has gotten together with different regions to discover a trade off between open strategies and understudy fulfillment. John-John Williams, IV in his article, Å"Having a Say on What They Eat, looks at the endeavors of the Howard County Public Schools in Ellicott City, Maryland. Because of a 2006 Å"wellness approach, secondary school directors were required to diminish the measure of high fat nourishments offered to understudies. Things, for example, french fries or anything taking after quick nourishments were avoided as reasonable decisions. Accordingly, understudies fought with their wallets by declining to buy certain cafeteria things. Howard County secondary schools lost a large number of dollars in much required income and had to incorporate understudy shoppers in the dynamic procedure. Understudies took a crack at the Culinary Arts Program are making their voices heard at Oakland Mills, a secondary school in Howard County. The youthful male and female gourmet specialists want to make dishes appropriate for next falls menu. Understudies took a crack at the cooking class, much like numerous café proprietors and expert culinary specialists, are confronted with the difficulties of giving nourishments that meet national healthful rules and simultaneously oversee cost and taste advance. Understudies taking an interest in the trial were required to plan dishes that would meet the national rules of 750 absolute calories (110 of which could get from fat), and150 grams of sodium at the expense of $1. 22. On April1, only a couple of days away, judges will choose plans from twelve secondary schools in five regions including Howard. One of the serious issues for secondary school overseers has been understudy mindfulness with respect to food planning and nourishment. They clarify the understudies culinary insight as far as link food systems and big name gourmet experts. Secondary school understudies tastes in nourishments have conflicted with authoritative commitments yet culinary program members have discovered a beneficial methods for impacting foundational and institutional change. There are an assortment of sociological issues imbedded in the Howard County challenge. The setting of the battle is the open secondary school, a social and political institutional space that works under certain government rules and state financial plans. The topic of network and culture is a predominant topic as Howard County investigates how best to address the worries of different and assorted constituents. While the essential objective is to meet general wellbeing and dietary rules, the basic hindrances to meeting these goals have been both monetary and social. All together for Howard County to be in consistence they should respond to the subject of wellbeing as well as figure out how to set up a type of dietary health that is both reasonable and adequate to understudies. For instance, Erika Henderson, a senior from Oakland Mills High took on the Culinary Arts class, expressed that the food was offensive since it was Å"cheap food with no seasoning (Williams, IV 10). Thus, Erika chose to bring her lunch every day. Erikas decision to pass on the cafeteria nourishments raises issues about class. Understudies from lower earnings might not have things to bring from home and, in numerous occasions, depend on the cafeteria cooking. Simultaneously, Erika seems to have been very OK with setting up her own food. She had a specific idea about fixings recommending that the way of life of her home permitted and empowered food planning and experimentation. Also, the Culinary Arts Program made a subculture; a partner of understudies who, maybe, were progressively mindful of the subtleties of food readiness and patterns than their friends. The culinary expressions understudies were the most vocal in requesting that their plans be taste-tried and, if effective, set on the menu. Laurie Collins, Instructional Facilitator at Oakland Mills, demanded that Å"they will have a go at something that [has been] arranged by their peers (Williams, IV 10). With only days from a choice, more than seventeen-thousand understudies at Oakland may get an opportunity to have their way as far as reasonable, sound, inviting, and engaging decisions for lunch whether it is the prepared onion rings or apple cuts. Understanding that it will be hard to satisfy everybody, all gatherings are idealistic about the fall menu. Howard County and the Oakland understudies have assumed control over issues by offering a practical answer for what is a national and institutional issue. The understudies, through difficult work and innovativeness, are concocting their own essence of Å"wellness. Works Cited Williams IV, John-John. Analysis Of VARK Questionnaire Paper Teaching And Learning Styles - 1100 Words

Analysis Of VARK Questionnaire Paper: Teaching And Learning Styles (Term Paper Sample) Content: TECAHING AND LEARNING STYLES Student’s Name Professor’s Name Course Date VARK ANALYSIS PAPER VARK stands for Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and Kinesthetic which all are the sensory means of to learn in different situations. This assessment tool of learning strategies was initially developed by Neil Fleming in 2001. Neuro-linguistic model developed by Eicher (1987) has been used as the basis for this tool. It is a simple and short inventory that is very practical and helps us understand ourselves and the people around us regarding learning in different situations. VARK is the beneficial tool which provides necessary information about how do we learn and allows us to improve our study competencies and techniques. Every learner has some preferred styles of learning through which they learn best and some least preferred styles, through which their learning process does not prove to be useful. Once a person, whether student or teacher, knows his preferred and least preferred learning styles and strategies, the learning process can be enriched, and better learning attitudes can be de veloped. After self-administration of VARK Test, my test results indicated my scores as Visual: 5, Aural: 8, Read/Write: 8, and Kinesthetic: 2. According to the test results, I have high scores in two sensory modalities of learning, Aural and Read/Write, and a learner who has multiple preferred styles of learning is called a multimodal learner. My scores for both of Aural and Read/Write are same as 8, then on Visual, I scored a 5, and the least preferred style appeared to be Kinesthetic with a score of 2. I believe and agree with the results of the VARK test as if I review my past academic life and learning strategies and outcomes; I have always preferred to listen to lectures and then learn the knowledge gathered through listening by reading the books or by writing it. That is how I learn maximum. Whenever a new semester or class starts, and I get new notes, books, lectures, or any other reading material, I focus on reading more than the pictorial representations. Although, I do enjoy the pr esence of pictures and diagrams in books and presentation, still I emphasize on reading the text. Also, because of my focus on reading, I have been an avid reader since my childhood, and my reading speed is so good that it’s difficult for my peers and fellows to finish reading a text with understanding before me. Besides reading, writing has also been my interest, and I have always had this habit of noting down every word of the lectures presented by the instructors. Even when teachers present the PowerPoint presentations, I still focus on writing at least some words because it helps me learn and remember. Because of my excessive reading skills and interest in writing, I have always been writing high-quality assignments, projects, home works, and research papers on my own. My writing abilities have been strengthened and nurtured and can write smoothly on a variety of subjects and topics only because I have been reading so many books, newspapers, and journals for a long time which have made me self-sufficient to write on many subjects. Aural is also my preferred learning style according to test results like Reading/Write, and I agree with it as listening also has been my preferred sensory modality. I emphasize on listening to lectures carefully, various informative shows and programs, and in the modern world today, as we have the options of audio books available, I do not miss any chance to listen to a book. Scribd subscription to read and listen to multiple books have helped me enhance my knowledge through my preferred learning skills too. Also, during lectures, when teachers present PowerPoint presentations, I learn in a better way when there are speaker notes available as the voices help me remember and recall better. I also have an MP3 recorder through which I have been recording important lectures and seminars during my academic career, and have listened to them again to absorb it better and do not miss out the significant details. During my childhood, my parents used to tell me stories to help me understand t he concepts better, and I believe this has led the foundation of listening to my preferred learning style. Evidently, both of my preferred learning styles have their roots embedded in my childhood, and I believe that more use of my preferred learning ...

Integrity in Leadership Essay - 1644 Words

Definition of Integrity  · Since this paper deals with the idea of integrity in leadership, it is useful to start this paper defining integrity. Websters dictionary defines integrity as uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other values; utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, or shallowness of any kind Let us exam this definition a bit deeper. The first part of the definition talks of uncompromising adherence. This means that one would always choose the right path, regardless of what seems to be more appealing. Take the example of when and when not to lie. A person of integrity would always tell the truth regardless of the situation. The second part of the definition deals†¦show more content†¦Integrity of Utility  · First, it is important to define the idea of utility. Utility, defined in its simplest form, is doing what will produce the greatest good for the greatest number of the leader?s constituents. Therefore, under this theory of integrity, the leader must consider what is best for his community. This means disregarding his own personal interests. To go back to the example of whether to lie, it would be important to predict the result before making the decision. If lying was a better choice for more people, then it would be moral to lie, or the opposite is also true. It is very hard to determine the greatest good, but there are some concepts to look at when making a decision. They are: 1. A leader should choose the action(s) that would perform more total good than any other act would have produced 2. Consider the gross good versus the net good. Which action(s) will produce the greatest good minus the bad consequences 3. Choose the action that is the lesser of two evils, which means it will produce less bad consequences 4. Consider all the consequences, and the action(s) that produces the greatest short and long term good is the preferred action(s) When making a decision under this theory, it is only necessary to consider one or two of these concepts. No choice will ever satisfy all the concepts, but it is a leader?s job to know how to make the decision, whileShow MoreRelatedIntegrity and Leadership in Nursing1443 Words   |  6 PagesIntegrity and Leadership in Nursing Integrity and Leadership in Nursing Integrity is a deeply individualized phenomenon. Baroque Art is less complex, more realistic and more emotionally affecting than Mannerism. The The Union of Earth and Water by Rueben is a good example of Baroque style painting. Rueben shows off his skill at arranging several figures in a beautiful swirling composition while perfectly depicting each element of the painting?flowers, trusts, cloth, and flesh. The paintings drama, movement, violence, exuberance, exaggeration, large scale, and strong contrast tot light and dark are all characteristics tot Baroque style, which is very different than the Neoclassicism, Neoclassicism: (l SO 1830) Neoclassicism is a nineteenth century French art style and movement that originated as a reaction to the Baroque. This period gave rebirth to the art of ancient Rome and Greece and the Renaissance as an opposition to the ostentatious Baroque and Rococo art that preceded the movement. Neoclassicism emphasized rationality and the resurgence of tradition. Neoclassic artists used classical forms to express their ideas about courage, sacrifice, and love of country, and they incorporated classical styles and subjects, including columns, pediments, friezes, and Other ornamental schemes in their work. Neoclassical painters took extra care to depict the costumes, settings, and details Of classical subject matter With as much accuracy as possible. Much Of the subject matter was derived from classical history and mythology. The movement emphasized line quality over color, light, and atmosphere. David and Canoga are examples of neo-classicists. The Oath of the Hieratic is a large painting by the French artist Jacques. Louis David. It depicts a scene from a Roman legend about a dispute between two warring cities. Realism: (1850 1880) Realism was a mid-nineteenth century art movement and style in which artists discarded the formulas of Neoclassicism and the theatrical drama of Romanticism to paint tamari scenes and events as they actually looked. Typically it involved some sort of sociopolitical or moral message in the depiction Of ugly or commonplace subjects. It was an opposition to the traditional approach to Neoclassicism and the drama of Romanticism. It is defined by the accurate, unembellished, and detailed depiction of nature or contemporary life. The movement prefers an observation of physical appearance rather than imagination or idealization. In this sense, Realism can be found in movements of many other centuries. Realists striver to paint scenes as they actually appeared. Often the artists depicted ugly and common subjects that normally alluded to a social, political, or moral message. Gore example, in Bonjour, Monsieur Court, Gustavo Court has painted himself on the right side. This self-portrait offers a number Of significant clues as to how the artist thought Of himself or perhaps how he wished to be seen. Impressionism: (1 865 1885) The history Of modern art begins With Impressionism, a movement founded in Paris as an opposition to the rigid traditions favored by institutions such as the Academic des Beaux-Arts. The Impressionist style of painting emphasized loose imagery rather than finely delineated pictures. The artists of the movement worked mostly outdoors and striver to capture the variations of light at differing mimes throughout the day. Their color palettes were colorful and they rarely used blacks or grays. Subject matter was most often landscape or scenes from daily life. Impressionists were interested in the use of color, tone, and texture in order to objectively record nature. They emphasized sunlight, shadows, and direct and reflected light. Some of the greatest impressionist artists were Detoured Meant, Camille Pissarro, Edgar Degas, Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, Berth Morison and Pierre Augusta Renoir. Impressionism is very different than the Realism in the portrait painting. .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .postImageUrl , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:hover , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:visited , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:active { border:0!important; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:active , .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891 .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .uf47018050ebf3a8e98d6180e88db3891:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: History Behind Much Ado About Nothing EssayFor realism, it is very important to understand what type of portrait you want, It will look like a photo, which shows all details, and be a very realistic oil portrait. However, the Impressionism gives you an impression of the photo. It is harder to capture the detail Post-Impressionism: (1885 1905) Post-Impressionism is a movement in France that represented both an extension of Impressionism and a rejection Of that styles inherent limitations. The Post Impressionist period came when several former Impressionist painters became dissatisfied With the movements insistence on light and color. The post- Impressionists aspired to fine more depth in the roles of color, form and solidity in painting. Impressionism was based, in its strictest sense, on the Objective recording of nature in terms of the fugitive effects of color and light. The Post- Impressionists rejected this limited rain in favor of more ambitious expression, admitting their debt to the pure, brilliant colors of Impressionism, its freedom from traditional subject matter, and its technique of defining form with short brushstrokes of broken color. Post Impressionism was a continuation of the Impressionist movement, but rejected the limitations of its predecessor. Cubism: 1920) Cubism is one of the most influential art movements of the twentieth century. Led by Pablo Picasso and Georges Baroque, the Cubists broke from centuries of tradition in their painting by rejecting the single viewpoint. Instead they used an analytical system in which three-dimensional subjects were fragmented and redefined from several different points of view simultaneously. The movement is considered to have its roots in the work of post-Impressionist, Paul Cezanne, It also took from African tribal art, reducing everything to cubes and other geometrical forms Cubist artists depicted drastically fragmented objects, sometimes showing multiple sides simultaneously. Cubism was the forerunner of abstract art, Cubism paved the way for geometric abstract art by putting an entirely new emphasis on the unity between the depicted scene in a picture, and the surface of the canvas. Geometric abstraction: Geometric abstraction is a form of abstract art based on the use of geometric forms sometimes, though not always, placed in Nan-illusionists space ND combined into non-objective (non-representational) compositions. Throughout 20th century art historical discourse, critics and artists working within the reductive or pure strains of abstraction have often suggested that geometric abstraction represents the height Of a non-objective art practice, which necessarily stresses or calls attention to the root plasticity and two- dimensionality of painting as an artistic medium. Based on strict design principles with no attempt to create an illusion of three-confessional space, geometric abstraction was considered by many modern artists to be the ultimate art movement. Geometric forms are specific shapes formed by straight lines or curved lines that continue along a continuous path. In some ways, geometric abstraction was influenced by the Cubist art movement. If Cubism opened the road to simples. inning tort through geometry, Geometric Abstraction was able to pass the threshold of what is real to achieve the purest form. Surrealism: (1924 1 955) Surrealism was a literary and art movement inspired by Freudianism, Andre Breton founded Surrealism in Paris in 1924. Similar to the 19th century Symbolist movement, Surrealism was based on the psychoanalytic theories f Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, emphasizing imagination and subconscious imagery. Work usually contained realist imagery arranged in a nonsensical style in order to create a dreamlike state. Surrealism inherited its anti-rationalist sensibility from Dada, but was lighter in spirit than that movement. Surrealist painting incorporated a lot of content and technique. Surrealism incorporated and celebrated the art Of children and primitive earl They appreciated the innocent eye in that the untrained artist was more liberated to depict their actual imaginative ideas. For example, the paintings Of Attests Said explore he dark side of modern life. Surrealism has more of a realistic approach than Cubism.
